Trilateral meeting to be held in US due to escalation between Armenia and Azerbaijan

On Monday, September 19, a meeting between the heads of foreign affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan, will take place in New York. The third party will be the USA and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken

"At the initiative of the American side, a trilateral meeting of Mirzoyan-Blinken-Bayramov will be held today in New York," the message reads, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

Earlier, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed "deep regret" over Pelosi's statements in Yerevan.

On the day of Pelosi's visit, several hundred demonstrators gathered for a protest demanding Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO.

What is the situation in Armenia?

On the night of September 13, an aggravation of the situation was observed on the border of Azerbaijan and Armenia. The countries exchanged accusations of provocations and shelling.

The CSTO promised to use mechanisms to resolve the situation.

Later it became known that the CSTO does not yet plan to send its forces to the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The organization hopes for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
