russians shelled South Ukraine nuclear plant
At night, the russians fired at the industrial zone of the South Ukraine nuclear power plant. The rocket fell 300 m from the reactors.
The press service of the Energoatom company reported on Telegram.
"Today, September 19, 2022, at 00:20, the russian army launched a missile attack on the industrial zone of the South Ukraine nuclear power plant. The powerful explosion occurred just 300 m from the reactors of the NPP," the message reads.
Energoatom noted that the shock wave damaged the NPP buildings. More than 100 windows were broken. One of the hydraulic units of the Oleksandrivka hydropower plant, which is part of the South Ukraine energy complex, has shut down. Three high-voltage power lines were also disconnected.
It is reported that all three power units of the South Ukraine NPP are working as usual. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the station's staff.
Acts of nuclear terrorism by the russians threaten the whole world; they must be stopped immediately to prevent a new catastrophe, Energoatom emphasized.

russian missiles have repeatedly flown dangerously close to the South Ukraine nuclear power plant. At the Zaporizhzhya NPP, which the russians captured on March 4, the invaders are placing military equipment and ammunition and shelling the surrounding area. The russians are also shooting the station itself, destroying power lines, causing power units to shut down, and blaming the Ukrainian Armed Forces for this.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, russian troops seized the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and stayed on its territory for more than a month, terrorizing the personnel.
