NATO Secretary General urged to provide Ukraine with more weapons
NATO Secretary General assured Ukraine of further support, which will last as long as needed.
He stated this during his speech at the second summit of the Crimea Platform, EP writes.
"We are committed to the partnership with Ukraine and helped move to NATO standards. The winter will be difficult, and we see that the war is exhausting. This is a fight of will, and logistics, so we must continue to support Ukraine. A strong and stable Ukraine is the key to Euro-Atlantic security. We will continue to be together with Ukraine as long as necessary," Stoltenberg said.
NATO Secretary General stated that eight years ago, the russian federation illegally seized Crimea, turning it into one of the most militarized places on the planet.
"And it became a springboard for an attack on Ukraine six months ago. President putin thought he could break the Ukrainian people and dictate his terms. But he was wrong. Ukraine has shown the ability to defend itself against aggression and inflict heavy losses on russia," Stoltenberg said.
He assured that NATO is in solidarity with Ukraine, and member states support the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the right to defend their land.
"NATO is part of the US-led Contact Group, which is mobilizing support, and I actively encourage leaders to provide more weapons and equipment as soon as possible," he said.
