The EU is looking for alternative to export millions of tons of grain from Ukraine
The European Union is trying to find an alternative way to export Ukrainian grain. It is planned to ship about 20 million tons.
RBC-Ukraine reports, citing an interview with European Foreign Minister Josep Borrell.
According to him, Ukrainian wheat should be urgently exported to countries that need it. It will free up storage space for the next harvest.
Borrell believes that Ukrainian grain can be transported by rail through neighboring countries as long as ports remain blocked.
"We have to find an alternative route by sea, but it is challenging. We are working on it, but the opportunity to deliver 20 million tons to the port on the Black Sea, Romania and Bulgaria is a stream in the Baltic countries by rail," he said.
Earlier, Scholz and Macron called on putin to hold direct talks with Zelensky.
According to them, putin assured that he "wants to allow grain export from Ukraine, especially by sea."
