On May 12, the air defense of the Air Force, Land Forces, and Assault Troops hit 7 air targets:
- 5 UAVs (Orlan-10);
- 1 helicopter (Ka-52);
- 1 cruise missile.
During the past day, thanks to the skillful actions of our soldiers in the Zaporizhzhia direction, our army has destroyed:
- 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery units – 3 units;
- armored combat vehicles – 2 units;
- automotive equipment – 7 units;
- UAV – 1 unit;
- car fuel refuelers – 4 units.
In the Donetsk and Luhansk directions, Ukraine's defenders repulsed 18 enemy attacks over the past 24 hours, and destroyed:
- 13 tanks,
- 8 artillery systems,
- 27 units of combat armored vehicles,
- 2 units of special engineering equipment,
- 5 enemy cars.
On the crossing of the Siverskyi Donets River near Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, Ukrainian troops have recently destroyed 73 units of military equipment, including T-72 tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, BMD, cars, and special equipment. This conclusion was reached by experts in the study of data (OSINT), analyzing images of the destroyed pontoon crossing. It is assumed that some other equipment sank.
The enemy's total losses in the southern direction over the past day were:
- 6 units of armored vehicles;
- 3 units of automotive equipment.

Only yesterday, russia fired about 20 missiles at Ukrainian cities, and since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, russia has launched 2,154 missiles on Ukrainian territory. Currently, at least 50 naval-based missiles are stationed in the Black Sea off the coast of Ukraine on russian ships. In addition, 2,770 enemy aircraft have been recorded in Ukraine's airspace.
"russia's strategic defeat is already obvious to everyone in the world and even to those who still continue to communicate with them. It's just that russia doesn't have the courage to admit it yet. They are cowards. And they are trying to hide the truth behind missile, air, and artillery strikes," said President Zelensky.
The title of Hero of Ukraine was awarded to Colonel Roman Kachur, Commander of the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade of the East Operational Command of the Land Forces. 269 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were awarded state awards, 14 of them posthumously.

The first russian serviceman will stand trial in Ukraine today for war crimes. Vadim Shishimarin, a 21-year-old russian serviceman accused of killing a civilian in the village of Chupakhivka in the Sumy region on February 28, will be on trial. Humanitarian corridors
Ukraine has started talks on evacuating the wounded from Azovstal, Deputy PM Iryna Vereshchuk reported. It will take place in several stages and will begin with the rescue of severely wounded Ukrainian soldiers. "We've started a new round of talks on the special operation road map. We start with the seriously wounded. The Red Cross met with the russians. Negotiations were held with them, as well as with the UN, and they were given a mandate. We want a signed document: how exactly the evacuation from Azovstal will take place. We're preparing to sign it," Vereshchuk said.
The Deputy Prime Minister clarified that Turkey had agreed to act as a mediator in the current round of talks. This is not Turkey's first attempt to help Ukraine save its heroes. The leader of the Crimean Tatar movement, Mustafa Dzhemilev, said that Turkey had already prepared a ship to evacuate Ukrainian Azovstal fighters in early May and was even ready to guarantee that they wouldn't fight until the end of the war, but the russians refused. The russian Defense Minister said that Volodymyr Zelensky should give the command to surrender, and the Ukrainian military was allegedly guaranteed normal treatment.
Today, May 13, 2022, from 10:00 to 15:00, a green humanitarian corridor is open for citizens who need to travel to the temporarily occupied territories near Vasylivka. The command of the Defense Forces of the Zaporizhzhia region asks to monitor the security situation because, in case it changes, the corridor will be closed, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration said.

Kharkiv region
Two people were killed and four were injured (including two medics) as a result of yesterday's shelling of Derhachi in the Kharkiv region. The mayor of the city Viacheslav Zadorenko reported about it. According to him, the humanitarian headquarters, and the premises of the Civil Registry Office were seriously damaged, the food block of the Derhachi Hospital, part of the polyclinic together with the X-ray room were destroyed, and the ambulance building was damaged.
The mayor also said that today the Tokarivka, Mali Prokhody, Kozacha Lopan village districts (completely), Tsupivka of the Prudiany district, and the village of Nove of the Lozova district in the Derhachi community are under russian occupation.
Kherson region
In Oleksandrivka of the Stanislav community, more than 350 houses are not suitable for living due to shelling by the russian military; this is 35 percent of all houses in the village, the head of the Stanislav territorial community Ivan Samoilenko said.
