Dolphins are dying en masse in the Black Sea because of russia's military actions

Because of the military actions of the russian federation against Ukraine, dolphins are dying en masse in the Black Sea.

This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova on Facebook.

According to her, as a result of hostilities of russian invaders on the Black Sea coast are increasingly finding dead mammals.

The shells used by the invaders to shell Ukrainian towns and villages are released from ships and submarines in the Black Sea and polluting it.

"The use of military sonar is especially harmful to dolphins. Because of the radiation of navigation devices, mammals stop receiving echoes, which leads to their death. Aggressive actions of ruscists are dangerous for all flora and fauna of the Black and Azov Seas," said Denisova.

She noted that the invaders violated Article 35 of the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Convention of 12 August 1949, relating to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts (Protocol No. 1) of 8 June 1977, concerning the proper treatment of the environment during hostilities.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner also asked the UN Commission to Investigate Human Rights Violations during russia's military invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of russia's war crimes in Ukraine.

As reported, as a result of the military actions of the russian aggressor, more than 100 cases of ecocide have already been recorded in Ukraine.
