Biden has offered a new US ambassador to Ukraine. What's known about her

US President Joe Biden has nominated diplomat Bridget Brink for US ambassador to Ukraine.

The White House reported about it, the EP reports.

"Today, President Biden announced his intention to nominate experienced diplomat Bridget Brink as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine," the press service said.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the president's intention to nominate Brink for the post during a visit to Ukraine on April 24.

What is known about Bridget Brink?

She began her diplomatic career at the State Department in 1996. From 1997 to 1999 she was a political consular officer at the US Embassy in Serbia.

Until 2002, Brink worked as a clerk from Cyprus, and until 2004 as a special assistant to the US Secretary of State for Political Affairs in Europe, when Colin Pavel was Secretary of State.

She was also the political and economic leader in Tbilisi from 2005 to 2008. In 2011 she returned to Georgia as Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy in Tbilisi. From 2014 to August 2015, she was the Deputy Head of Mission at the US Embassy in Tashkent.

Since 2019, Brink has been the US Ambassador to Bratislava, Slovakia.
