Ukraine has sent the first part of the membership questionnaire to the EU and is preparing the second
Ukraine has sent the first part of the completed questionnaire to the European Commission to assess our ability to obtain EU candidate status and is already working on the second part.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna.
"The first part of the questionnaire on Ukraine's membership in the EU has been sent to the European Commission. As promised by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine has completed the document in a week! We have already started working on the second part. I am proud of the Ukrainian government team," she said.
Earlier, Zelenskyy's Office said that the questionnaire for obtaining the status of a candidate country for accession to the European Union, which European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen handed over to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during her visit to Kyiv, has been completed.
Ukraine is waiting for an accelerated procedure for joining the EU because it cannot afford 10-20 years of negotiations.
