In the Luhansk region, people killed by russian invaders and deceased are buried right in the cities. In Severodonetsk alone, about 400 burials were recorded during the 48 days of the war.

This was announced on Facebook by the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhii Haidai.

"Cemeteries are right in the cities. How are residents killed by russians and deceased in the Luhansk region buried in the war?… All cemeteries are not located within cities, burials are impossible there due to shelling," the mayor wrote.

He said that the morgues in the controlled cities were full of bodies of dead and deceased civilians. Electricity is supplied intermittently or not at all. Bodies also lie in basements. It is impossible to keep them, so in the periods of the ceasefire between the shellings, volunteers and utility workers bury the bodies in new designated places.

According to Haidai, in Severodonetsk, the military-civil administration organized a new burial place in a relatively safe place. Pits are dug with a tractor and graves are systematized in the register. Every dead or deceased person is buried naturally in a separate grave, about 48 burials have been recorded during the 48 days of the war. Most are recognizable.

In Lysychansk, the dead are buried in mass graves.

The head of regional military administration noted that the situation in Popasna and Rubizhne was difficult. Due to the partial occupation of cities by the russians, the removal of bodies is impossible, burials are carried out by residents in the yards of residential sectors. Due to the shelling, in certain areas, the bodies remain lying on the streets. Where there is access, bodies are collected and transported to suburban cemeteries. They are buried in special packages, with as much information about the person as possible on the plates.

"The time will come and we will definitely do everything in a human way… Eternal memory," Haidai stressed.

Note

Luhansk region is constantly being attacked by the russian aggressor army with various weapons: systems of volley fire Smerch – C, Grad, air bombs, and others. Many residential buildings, infrastructure, and educational institutions were destroyed in the region, and all hospitals were damaged.
