Zelenskyy addressed the Irish people: Everyone knows what to do. The only obstacle is the lack of integrity of individual leaders
Speaking in the Irish Parliament, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said to put pressure on some political and business leaders of the EU, who are slowing down the strengthening of sanctions
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelensky stressed that further sanctions should be imposed.
As the war continues, all trade with russia must be halted, russian banks' ties with the world's financial system blocked, and the flow of money the russian budget receives for oil cut off.
"The world has long developed mechanisms. Everyone knows what needs to be done. The only obstacle is the lack of integrity of individual leaders. Political leaders, business leaders. Those who still think war and war crimes are not as scary as financial losses," said the president.
He expressed confidence that the Irish leadership could change that.
"I'm confident that all of us in Europe together will be able to end this terrible war and restore peace and stability in Eastern Europe.
It is simply impossible to procrastinate with this," the president added.
As Rubryka reported, on March 5, EU representatives released details of other new sanctions.
These include a ban on imports of russian coal, restrictions on access for russian carriers and ships, restrictions on oligarchs and their families, and a blockade on the export of some high-tech machines.
The European Union has also proposed imposing sanctions on two daughters of russian president vladimir putin in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
