The United States will tighten sanctions against Russia this Thursday
The United States of America (USA) has prepared new sanctions against the Russian Federation. They will be announced this Thursday.
This was reported by CNN.
According to US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, sanctions against Russia will be announced during the visit of US President Joe Biden to Brussels.
"I am not going to release the announcement that will be made with our allies on Thursday, when the president will have the opportunity to talk to them at this time, about another package of sanctions," Sullivan said.
Sullivan also noted that a key element was focused not only on new sanctions but also on joint efforts to prevent Russia from evading, easing, or circumventing these old restrictions.
Biden plans to meet with world leaders at an extraordinary NATO summit this Thursday and at a meeting between the G7 and the European Council.
