Israel suspends visa-free travel for Ukraine and is not accepting refugees
Israel has suspended the visa-free regime for Ukraine. From now on, Ukrainians who want to enter the country must first obtain a special permit from the Israeli Interior Ministry.
This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel.
The country has set a quota for 5,000 Ukrainian citizens who will be able to enter the country. Israel has already accepted part of the quota and will continue to do so. However, the embassy stressed that Israel does not accept refugees from Ukraine.
If Ukrainians plan to come to Israel at the invitation of a citizen of the country, they are obliged to sign a declaration for guests on the website of the Office of Population and Immigration using an electronic questionnaire at the link.
Citizens of Ukraine who apply to come to Israel must fill out an electronic application on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel at the link. The answer will be sent by e-mail.
If the applicant arrived in Israel at the invitation of a citizen of the country, it is important that the applicant has this invitation before completing the application.
Ukrainians will not be able to enter Israel without hindrance as tourists (for example, you just want to wait for the end of the war in Israel or have friends and relatives there who do not have status in Israel).
At the same time, the Israeli government has identified priority categories of people who can enter the country under certain conditions (for example, spouses/children of Ukrainian citizens and Israeli citizens permanently residing in Ukraine; citizens who have previously applied for family reunification). citizens of Israel, members of the families of Israelites of the first line of kinship, new repatriates, and persons with Jewish roots).
