Verkhovna Rada: Martial law extended in Ukraine for 30 days
The Verkhovna Rada extended the martial law in Ukraine for another 30 days
This was announced by the People's Deputy of the Voice faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak.
To recap, martial law on Ukraine's territory was entered on February 24.
On this day, a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began.
Martial law was to last until March 26. Thus, it was extended for another 30 days ㅡ until April 25.
During martial law, the authorities may introduce:
curfew,
establish a special regime of entry and exit,
restrict the freedom of movement of citizens, foreigners, and stateless persons, as well as the movement of vehicles.
Also, during martial law, the country may introduce:
- compulsory labor or compulsory community service,
- forced alienation of private property,
- the possible transition of various institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership to work in favor of the defense.
It is possible to ban the activities of certain political parties or public associations that work against the independence of Ukraine.
According to the law, during martial law, the authorities and in particular the military command have the right to check:
- documents
- inspect things
- luggage, cargo, transport.
- private property.
