Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov is alive, but he is being tortured.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with foreign media.
"The mayor of Melitopol is alive. He is being tortured for not wanting to say that he is glad to see the Russian authorities," he said.
Earlier, Zelenskyy appealed to Western leaders to help release the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov.
To recap, in the morning on March 12 the Russian military took away the coordinator of daily protests in the city Olha Haisumova from the rally in Melitopol. This was stated in a message on her page on social networks.
