Ruble against dollar fell by more than 20% in a day
On March 7, the ruble devaluated against the dollar and the euro to record highs.
This is evidenced by data from the over-the-counter Forex market.
In the evening, the dollar was worth 150 rubles; the euro traded at 164.5 rubles. During the day, the euro and the dollar strengthened against the ruble by 22-23%.
On March 4, the Bank of Russia lowered the official dollar and euro exchange rates to 105.8124 rubles and 116.5312 rubles, respectively. They will be effective from March 5.
The Central Bank suspended trading in all markets of the Moscow Stock Exchange until March 9.
