Iryna Tsvila, Sich Battalion veteran, died in battles for Kyiv in Ukraine

A veteran of the Sich Battalion, Iryna Tsvila, an activist of the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union, died during the defense of Kyiv on February 25.

"Our sister, Iryna Tsvila, a freedom fighter, died in the battles for Kyiv. A hero of the Moscow-Ukrainian war, a fighter in the Sich Battalion and the Freedom Legion. Eternal memory and glory! We will win this war," the Head of Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union Oleh Tiahnybok.

People's Deputy Volodymyr Viatrovych also mourns the death of Iryna Tsvila:

"Ira Tsvila is a woman warrior who died defending Ukraine. Eternal memory," the deputy wrote under the photo with Irina.

Iryna Tsvila was the heroine of the book Girls Cut Braids, which won the Shevchenko Prize.

Russia's open full-scale invasion of Ukraine began at about 5 a.m. on February 24, followed by an offensive on the country's cities.
