Ukraine has already exported almost 10 million tonnes of milling wheat
As of December 8, 2021, according to customs data, almost 15 million tonnes of wheat were exported, including 9.8 million tonnes of milling wheat and 5.13 million tonnes of feed wheat.
Grain market analyst Maryna Marynych pointed out a high share of milling wheat in exports since the beginning of 2020/2021 MY equaling 66%, UkrAgroConsult reports.
According to the expert, milling wheat shipments rose on increasing demand from importers preferring high-protein wheat (for food use) – Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Algeria and other MENA countries (Middle East and North Africa). For less than six months, exporters shipped abroad almost as much as during the entire season last years.
According to the Agrarian Policy Ministry's forecast, 3.59 million tonnes of milling wheat and 6.73 million tonnes of feed wheat will be available for export. Therefore, the share of milling wheat in the Ukrainian exports will grow.
As reported, according to the Agrarian Policy Ministry's, from the beginning of 2020/2021 MY (starting July 1, 2021) to December 6, 2021, exports of grains and legumes reached 26.08 million tonnes, showing an increase of 3.78 million tonnes compared to a corresponding period last marketing year. In particular, 14.60 million tonnes of wheat were exported (an increase of 2.502 million tonnes compared to a corresponding period of 2020/2021 MY).
