How much was raised for education at the auction: Kyiv School of Economics held a big charity event
On the evening of November 21, the Art Arsenal hosted a charity event of the Kyiv School of Economics, "Change Ukraine – One Life At A Time," to make modern world-class education possible for 400 students of bachelor's and master's programs.
"Our society will disappear if it doesn't change. We need to raise a better generation of adults who'll behave differently. This cannot be achieved without education. And it's almost non-existent in Ukraine. One of the exceptions is the University of Kyiv School of Economics, which provides world-class modern education. The university exists thanks to you. You're successful, influential and valuable people who believe in a beautiful Ukraine. Your energy and attitude inspire students and professors. Your participation in the charity night will enable almost 400 students to study in bachelor's and master's programs," said KSE Honorary President Tymofii Mylovanov.
According to the organizers, more than 334 thousand dollars were raised in one charity night.
The format of the evening included an auction of dynamic lots.
Among the lots were a master class in culinary art with Yevhen Klopotenko, individual training with "The Strongest Man in the World 2004" Vasyl Virastiuk, consultation on creating your own brand in the world of interior design by Olha Bohdanova, an individual photo shoot by a fashion stylist and photographer of Ukrainian and American Vogue Vasylyna Vrublevska and many others.
The most expensive lot was an intellectual online brunch with Nobel Prize winner Professor Roger Myerson. It was won by famous actress and businesswoman Anna Butkevych.
"It's not even a charity, but an investment in the future of Ukraine. I believe that education will make the success of our country possible. Now the investment company of our family BGV Group Management is already investing in a large-scale educational project: American University in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) to open soon in Kyiv. I'm pleased to support the Kyiv School of Economics with its progressive approaches to student learning, so that as many Ukrainians as possible have the opportunity to develop themselves and our country. I bought a lot of intellectual brunch with Nobel Prize winner Professor Roger Myerson, because constantly learning, developing and sharing knowledge is the best investment that will make you stronger than anyone else," Anna Butkevych commented.
The Kyiv School of Economics will donate 10% of all funds raised to institutions that change lives through education: 145 lyceums in Kyiv and the "Kontora Pi" public organization (mathematical community of talented children and teachers).
