Ukraine to cooperate with Georgia in "green" energy and energy efficiency field
Ukraine and Georgia signed a memorandum on cooperation in energy efficiency and green energy
The press service of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving reported this.
According to the report, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia signed a memorandum of understanding in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and alternative fuels.
According to Kostiantyn Hura, the acting head of energy efficiency, the two countries are working to develop "green" energy, decarbonize the economy, and the partnership will open additional opportunities for common goals. The partnership should become a new stage in developing foreign economic relations and forming an effective development policy for a "clean", energy-efficient, low-carbon economy in both countries.
The press service noted that within the memorandum the parties planned to identify opportunities for joint projects in the field of energy efficiency and "green" energy, as well as share experiences, best practices, and mechanisms for implementing projects in these areas.
Hura noted that Ukraine had the potential to develop both energy efficiency and "green" energy. Over the last seven years, projects worth about 7.8 billion euros of investment have been implemented.
