The OSCE press service reports.
"In the east of Ukraine, Linde visited Novotroitske and one of the checkpoints on the line of contact, as well as the nearest village, to learn about humanitarian efforts to mitigate the effects of the conflict on people's lives," the statement said.
The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office also learned about the activities of the SMM's monitoring organization and its efforts to ensure a ceasefire on the ground and to assist victims of the conflict.
Commenting on Ukraine's efforts to keep all checkpoints open, Linde stressed that the opening of all relevant checkpoints by the militants would be a significant step towards alleviating the difficulties for civilians crossing the line of contact on a daily basis.
Linde also visited Mariupol, where she talked to the Ukrainian military. They told her about the security situation in the Black Sea region. In addition, the head of the OSCE met with the administration of the port of Mariupol.
