On Wednesday, May 12, servicemen of the Marine Guard of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine found a Russian missile corvette "Pavlo Derzhavin" near the town of Chornomorsk, Odesa region.

The head of press service of sea protection field office of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Natalia Humeniuk, informed about it, Ukrinform reports.

"On the morning of May 12, border guards in the Odesa region targeted the presence of the Russian Black Sea Fleet missile corvette, Pavlo Derzhavin, at a distance of 19 miles east of Chornomorsk of the Odesa region," Humeniuk said.

According to her, after discovering an unknown object, border guards with the help of a coastal border post radar questioned him on the radio channel and received the answer that it was "Bugil 363."

"The patrol ship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation with board number 363, the missile corvette "Pavel Derzhavin" has such a call sign," the head of the press service said.

The Russian corvette, after being detected by radar, headed toward the Crimean peninsula.

The State Border Guard doesn't rule out that the stay of the Russian missile corvette off the Black Sea coast could be because it accompanied the US Coast Guard frigate Hamilton, which left Odesa on the evening of May 11.
