Zelenskyi calls on EU to continue pressure on Russia due to its constant provocations in Donbas
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated that in recent weeks illegal armed groups in the Donbas had been carrying out regular provocations and called on the European Union to continue to put pressure on Russia.
The President stated this during a joint appearance to the press with the President of the European Council Charles Michel at the "Shchastya" checkpoint in the Luhansk region.
"In recent weeks, there have been regular provocations by illegal armed groups, which complicate the situation in the country's east and complicate the path to peace. Our military continues to die," Zelenskyi said.
He stressed that only in the last 10 days in Donbas, two Ukrainian soldiers were killed.
"I'll be very grateful to you, Mr. President, for further mobilizing pressure from the European Union and EU member states on Russia. Like no other, Ukraine seeks to achieve peace in Donbas through diplomacy. And we will be able to do it only together, feeling the support of our partners, our international partners, and your personal support for the sake of stability and security both in Ukraine and on the European continent," Zelenskyi stressed.
