Embassy is working to prepare a conversation between Zelenskyi and Biden - Kuleba
Preparations for the telephone conversation between the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Joe Biden, continue, but there's no cause for concern.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated this at an online briefing.
"Just yesterday, I received the latest report from our embassy in Washington about contacts with representatives of the new administration, and I see no reason to worry. In particular, they discussed future contact between our presidents. Standard planned work and preparation for this conversation are underway," he said.
Kuleba noted that the US president was currently focused on the domestic political agenda and they had reduced the number of his international contacts to "almost zero."
The minister also recalled that the White House had announced the transfer of all meetings online due to quarantine restrictions.
"We're definitely working on organizing this conversation. There's no need for us to talk about the lack of communication between Ukraine and the United States. It's at least evidenced by my recent conversation with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken," Kuleba assured.
To recap, on February 2, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States and the prospects for contacts at all levels, including the highest ones, in a telephone conversation.
