Ukraine must entirely replace Russian nuclear fuel with American one, and integration with the European energy market may take place by 2023.
Acting Minister of Energy Yurii Vitrenko reported this during the presentation of the National Economic Strategy 2030, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
He also stressed the need to integrate Ukraine's energy system with the European one and admitted that it could happen before 2023.
"We want to do it, at least in 2023, maybe sooner," Vitrenko said.
According to the Head of the Ministry of Energy, integration with the European market is "integration with the liquid market with fair rules and effective competition, to which Ukraine aspires."
"Honestly, without such integration, we cannot achieve the level of competition we seek, because the concentration we see in the market and the integrity of the players can hardly make us count on it," he said.
