From ads to "Bachelorette": what’s a woman like on Ukrainian TV?

The seductress-lover, mother, homemaker are images of a woman that we can see in the Ukrainian media space. According to the results of gender monitoring in 2020, the most frequent mentions of women in the media were in pieces on social issues, crime, and culture. Experts from the same institute found that in 2019, 61.5% of articles on popular Ukrainian online media websites contained signs of sexism and objectification of women.

So what's she like–a modern Ukrainian woman, through the national media's eyes? To apprehend it, you first should understand where the ideas come from.
