A memorial square to be presented in Kyiv on UIA plane crash anniversary
Ukraine International Airlines plans to present a memorial square in Kyiv on the anniversary of the crash of the airline plane shot down in Iran.
UIA President Yevhen Dykhne told reporters before the presentation of the investigation film "The Secret of Romeo's Death."
"On January 8, we want to present a square of memory on the Dnieper embankment. We got good cooperation with the President's Office, with the city of Kyiv. We were presented with several options for locations where this could be done, and we chose a location, and yesterday the architectural competition ended. The winner of the competition will be announced tomorrow, and soon, there will be an arrangement of the PS752 flight memory park," Dikhne said.
He also commented on the awarding of the title of Heroes of Ukraine to the crew of the downed plane.
"We, of course, wrote an appeal to the President's Office from the company and asked that in this way, the heroic crew, which actually died in military conditions, be marked. I believe that this is an absolutely fair decision," Dikhne said.
