Ministry of Health expects 1.5 million COVID-19 antigen tests supplied to Ukraine
1.5 million antigen tests for COVID-19 are expected to be delivered to Ukraine this week.
Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated this at a briefing.
"We just started the testing. On December 23, the State Enterprise "Medical Procurement" expects the delivery of 1.5 million tests. These tests will be immediately distributed among family doctors. We've changed the algorithms for testing, are expanding the list of people who can be tested, because the press, social media report a lot that the decrease in the number of sick people is allegedly due to a decrease in the number of tests," Stepanov said.
Minister noted that rapid tests for COVID-19 antigen had been conducted in Ukraine for the last 10 days. Thus, 6,355 such tests were performed last week, of which 1,063 studies were positive.
Also during the week, 250,417 PCR tests were performed, Stepanov said.
