Zelenskyi met with Johnson: what they talked about

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson met in London.

The Ukrainian President briefed the Prime Minister on the security situation in Donbas and thanked Britain for its continued support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During the talks, they stressed how important collective action is in overcoming the most serious challenges facing the world today, i.e. the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the global climate crisis. Boris Johnson emphasized that the United Kingdom is of the opinion that every country should receive a vaccine when it's developed. Volodymyr Zelenskyi noted that Ukraine has the capacity for mass production and expects to produce a vaccine.

In addition, the President told the British Prime Minister about the projects and reforms that Ukraine is implementing to boost its economy. In particular, he informed about the "Big Construction" program, "investment nanny", when the state will protect investors and help with implementing their projects in Ukraine, and banking law, and the agricultural sector development.

"Everyone knows Ukraine as one of the largest suppliers of agricultural products in the world. The United Kingdom will be able to buy high-quality agricultural products from us at attractive prices," Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated. 

They also discussed the need to improve trade relations. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom noted that raising the trade level between the two countries is high on the agenda.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Boris Johnson stressed the importance of strategic partnership and the development of bilateral relations. 

The President of Ukraine invited the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom to pay an official visit to our country.
