Ukraine has changed the entry regulations for foreigners for the quarantine period

The State Border Guard Service reports.

In particular, the government has established that foreigners and stateless persons must not cross the state border without an existing insurance policy (certificate) issued by an insurance company registered in Ukraine or a foreign insurance company that has a representative office in Ukraine or a contractual relationship with a Ukrainian insurance company (assistance), and that covers the costs to treat COVID-19, observation, and is valid for the period of stay in Ukraine.

Exceptions that do not fall under the requirement include foreigners, stateless persons permanently living in Ukraine and persons recognized as refugees, or persons in need of additional protection, employees of diplomatic missions and consular posts of foreign states, representative offices of official international missions, organizations accredited in Ukraine, and members of their families, servicemen (units) of the armed forces of NATO states and members of the NATO Partnership for Peace program, who take part in training the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, foreigners and stateless persons may not cross and leave the checkpoints of the temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and the city of Sevastopol without an existing insurance policy (certificate).

They also determined that persons who cross the state border and come from the state or are citizens (subjects) of states with a significant spread of COVID-19 are subject to self-isolation.

The regulations do not apply to the following categories of people:

• who have not turned 12 years;
• who come to Ukraine to study in higher education institutions;
• who are citizens (subjects) of the countries with a significant spread of COVID-19 and have not been on the territory of such states during the last 14 days or are in transit through the territory of Ukraine and have documents confirming departure abroad within two days;
• employees of diplomatic missions and consular posts of foreign states, representative offices of official international missions, organizations accredited in Ukraine, and members of their families;
• drivers and crew members of freight vehicles, regular transit buses, crew members of aircraft and sea-crafts, river vessels, members of train and locomotive crews;
• instructors of the armed forces of NATO member states and member states of the NATO Partnership for Peace program, who take part in training the units of the Armed Forces;
• cultural figures at the invitation of a cultural institution together with a person accompanying each of the group;
• persons transporting hematopoietic stem cells for transplantation;
• which have a negative result of a COVID-19 PCR test, carried out no more than 48 hours before crossing the border.
