Ukraine and Honduras sign roadmap to deepen cooperation for 2026–2029

Ukraine and Honduras agreed to expand economic and business ties, while continuing cooperation on Black Sea freedom of navigation and the return of Ukrainian children abducted and deported by Russia.
According to Rubryka, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Honduras, Mireya Agüero de Corrales, following her visit to Kyiv as part of the Honduran Presidential delegation. As a key step in strengthening bilateral relations, the ministers signed a roadmap to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and Honduras for 2026–2029.
"We agreed on the importance of expanding economic and business ties. I thanked the Minister for her close attention to Ukraine and her sincere words regarding the Ukrainian people. Her visit to Kyiv offered an important opportunity to witness firsthand the consequences of Russia's war and strengthen mutual understanding between our nations," noted the minister.

"We highly value Honduras's principled stance on illegal shadow fleet operations, particularly its decision to halt the registration of such vessels under the Honduran flag," he added.
Among other topics, the parties discussed the urgent need to restore freedom of navigation in the Black Sea, which remains critical not only for regional security but also for global food security and uninterrupted Ukrainian agricultural exports.
Sybiha briefed his counterpart on efforts to establish the International Claims Commission, along with other international initiatives aimed at ensuring accountability and justice.

"We also discussed our cooperation on bringing home Ukrainian children abducted and deported by Russia, as well as practical steps to advance these efforts. Ukraine counts on Honduras's continued support for efforts toward achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace," Sybiha concluded.
