Overnight Russian attack kills four in Dnipro, injures dozens, and damages homes across Kyiv and southern regions

Russian forces launched a series of overnight strikes against several Ukrainian regions on September 22. Ballistic missiles hit industrial facilities in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Pavlohrad, while Shahed drones targeted the Bashtanka district in the Mykolaiv region. In Kyiv, an attack partially destroyed a five-story residential building, while fires broke out across the Kyiv region, damaging private homes and vehicles.
Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council; Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration; Heorhii Reshetilov, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration; and the State Emergency Service reported the details, according to Rubryka.
Dnipropetrovsk region
On the night of September 22, Russian troops launched ballistic missiles at the Dnipropetrovsk region, with explosions rocking Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Pavlohrad.
Monitoring channels and military reports indicate that four ballistic missiles hit Dnipro, four struck Kryvyi Rih, and at least three targeted Pavlohrad. The regional administration head reported that Russian forces struck industrial facilities in all three cities simultaneously, igniting fires at each site.
"The city is under ballistic missile attack. Further launches remain possible," Vilkul warned during the strike on Kryvyi Rih, adding that Russian forces also launched cruise missiles at the same targets.

Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration head Oleksandr Hanzha initially reported three injured residents receiving medical treatment. By 6:40 a.m., search and rescue crews confirmed two deaths and six injuries.
"People may still be under the rubble of the damaged enterprise. The search and rescue operation continues," Hanzha stated.

Paramedics hospitalized a 25-year-old man in critical condition. Four other victims—three men aged 35, 46, and 47, and a 51-year-old woman—entered the hospital in moderate condition, while a 57-year-old man received outpatient care.

The strike also damaged warehouses and an industrial enterprise.
Hanzha later reported that the death toll in Dnipro from the overnight attack had risen to three.
"Rescuers are continuing to search for another employee of the enterprise targeted by the enemy."
A short time later, rescue workers in Dnipro pulled the body of another victim from the rubble.
"The Russian overnight attack on the city has claimed four lives," the Regional Military Administration head wrote.
Mykolaiv region
Russian forces also attacked the Bashtanka district in the Mykolaiv region with Shahed drones overnight, injuring four men aged 21, 26, 33, and 37.
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration head Heorhii Reshetilov reported that doctors hospitalized three of the men, with the 21-year-old in critical condition, one victim in stable heavy condition, and another in stable condition. The fourth man received outpatient treatment.
Kyiv
In addition, an overnight Russian strike partially destroyed a five-story residential building in the capital's Dniprovskyi district. The attack injured four people, three of whom were hospitalized.

Emergency responders reported a fire in the basement, along with structural damage on the first floor and heavy damage to the facade.

During search-and-rescue operations, emergency workers rescued 15 residents from the damaged building. The Russian strike injured four people, with ambulance crews hospitalizing three of them.

Falling debris also caused damage in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district, where a tree caught fire on the grounds of a private home.

Kyiv region
On the evening of September 21, enemy strikes sparked a fire at a warehouse facility in the Brovary district of the Kyiv region. Emergency responders and local volunteer firefighting teams quickly put out the blaze.

Overnight on September 22, another fire broke out in the Brovary district on the roof of an outbuilding, and crews extinguished it.
The Russian attack damaged:
- Four private residential homes
- One outbuilding
- Three cars
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office confirmed five injuries in the Kyiv region. Three people, including an elderly married couple, suffered cuts, while medical workers treated two others on site for severe stress.

Background
On September 21, an earlier attack in the Bucha district sparked a fire at a commercial facility without causing casualties. In another community within the district, strikes damaged two private homes, four cars, and several warehouses.
Russian shelling also destroyed the main production and warehouse facilities of the Vents (Ventilation Systems) plant in Boyarka, which manufactures ventilation equipment.
