15-year-old Kyiv student sets national record with French DALF C2 and English C1 qualifications

Taisiia Fedorova, a student at Kyiv Lyceum No. 49, has passed the international DALF C2 exam, achieving the highest level of French proficiency under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). 

The National Register of Records officially recognized Taisiia as the youngest Ukrainian woman to certify her French at C2 level, the register's head, Lana Vietrova, announced on Facebook, Rubryka reports.

This is not the student's first language milestone: at 14, she earned a Grade A in the Cambridge B2 First (FCE) English exam, demonstrating C1-level proficiency.

She has been studying French since the age of six. Her interests extend beyond languages: she has also been learning programming since around the same age.

"She has mastered 3D graphics and UX/UI design and is now enrolled in a Fullstack Development program, building complete web applications, from the interface to the server side and databases," Lana Vietrova said.

Taisiia's practical projects include:

• A specialized application for analyzing code repositories (dedicated data storage spaces), with an interactive feature that visualizes connections between files.
• She has also taken part in team programming projects, serving as team leader.

As part of her IT education, the student successfully completed Harvard University's CS50x course, which covers fundamental computer science concepts. She earned full marks on every assignment.

Taisiia's next professional goal is to learn artificial intelligence development. Outside her studies and programming, her hobbies include speed-solving the Rubik's Cube.

Background

As Rubryka previously reported, Anastasiia Konokhova from Vinnytsia became the youngest person in Ukraine to certify her English proficiency at the C1 level officially. At 13 years and 11 months old, she achieved a near-perfect score on an international exam, surpassing the previous record holder.

Rubryka also reported that Kira Kasynets from Zakarpattia region, who set a Ukrainian record three years ago at the age of 11, has now set a world record: she recited a 1,328-word tongue twister from memory in 7 minutes and 35 seconds. She decided to use her new record to raise funds for the Superhumans Center.
