American actress Sharon Stone joins photography project about war in Ukraine

Hollywood actress Sharon Stone has become a co-curator of a photography project about Russia's war against Ukraine, now on display in Los Angeles.

The exhibition uses photographs to tell people's stories and highlight their resilience during the war, UNITED24 said, Rubryka reports.

The creators of "PostCode: Ukraine – Volunteer Diary" aim to show Los Angeles audiences the reality of the war in Ukraine beyond the headlines. The project features photographs documenting the people who carry the country through its hardest times, their stories, and their resilience.

"Sharon Stone has joined a powerful photography project bringing the reality of the war in Ukraine to Los Angeles," the post reads.

Alongside Stone, the project's co-curators include UNITED24 ambassador Alyssa Milano, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, writer and actor Stephen Fry, and Ukrainian writer Andrii Kurkov.

The organizers emphasize that photography both bears witness to events and can inspire action.

The exhibition runs through September 30 at Westwood Contemporary in Los Angeles.

Background

During a trip to Ukraine in early September, Angelina Jolie visited children continuing their education and creative activities amid the war. The actress toured underground learning spaces in Kharkiv, met girls from a dance studio and children with developmental disabilities, and visited a rehabilitation center in the Carpathians.

Ukrainian singer and music producer TUCHA, whose real name is Mariia Tuchka, also appeared on the main screen in New York's Times Square. Her photograph featured there as part of Spotify's global EQUAL music initiative.

As Rubryka reported, young Ukrainian gymnast Oleksandra Paskal, who lost a leg in a Russian missile attack, performed in Times Square in central New York to remind the world of Ukrainian children living through the war.
