Ukrainian writer and volunteer Andrii Liubka announced his decision to enlist in Ukraine's armed forces. He has already chosen a unit and will soon go to basic general military training.
Liubka announced his decision on his Facebook page.
The writer, known for his active volunteer work, showcased a vehicle he and his team recently purchased for the Ukrainian army. However, he noted that "it is time to take the next step – not just supporting Ukraine's armed forces, but serving within their ranks."
"Volunteer work, cultural diplomacy abroad, and public activity in Ukraine have all been important and valuable," Liubka wrote. "But if we want to survive and win, everyone must serve, no matter how helpful we were in the rear. My turn has come, and it's the right thing to do."

Liubka says he decided to mobilize back in October. Since then, he has chosen a unit, "wrapped up all the important matters and completed my work projects, and now I'm heading to basic military training."
"I don't yet know what my life will look like in the future – it probably won't be easy, but it will definitely be interesting. I hope this new experience will also be valuable for me as a writer. I'm grateful to everyone who has stood by me and continues to do so," he added.
