Ukrainian freediver Sadurska wins Blue Element 2025, setting new world record

Ukrainian freediver Kateryna Sadurska won the 2025 Blue Element Competition in Dominica, setting a world record in the constant weight without fins (CNF) discipline under the auspices of the International Association for the Development of Freediving (AIDA).

Sadurska dived to a record 86 meters. The Ukrainian surpassed her 2024 result by two meters. Then the freediver updated it three times in two months, conquering depths of 80, 82, and 84 meters.

In fall 2025, she also claimed two titles at the AIDA World Championship:
- Constant weight without fins (75 meters)
- Constant weight in "white" fins (97 meters)
Overall, the CNF world record is now the eighth held by a Ukrainian woman; Kateryna broke it for the third consecutive time at the Dominica tournament.
Sadurska first set a world record in July 2023, when she showed the best result on Vertical Blue with a dive of 74 meters.

"Last year I set two records in Dominica; now I've added another—this is my eighth in total. I broke it in the discipline without fins: I dived to 86 meters without any additional equipment, on a single breath. This discipline is considered the most difficult; it wasn't an easy dive, but it was worth it," Sadurska told Reuters.

Kateryna Sadurska, 33, is a Ukrainian swimmer and 2016 Olympian who has become one of the world's leading freedivers.
A two-time European champion and multiple medalist, she holds numerous world records across disciplines.
Under CMAS, she is a six-time world champion, winning free immersion (FIM) in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and constant weight without fins (CNF) from 2022 to 2024.
In September 2025, she set a new Ukrainian record in constant weight bi-fins (CWTB), diving to 97 meters to win the world title.
