US President Donald Trump said that he plans to hold talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin "very soon" and meet with some European leaders who will arrive at the White House.

According to CNN, Donald Trump stated this.

"Very soon. In the next few days. Look, we will solve this – the situation between Russia and Ukraine. We will solve this," Donald Trump said.

The publication recalls that on Sunday night, Russia carried out its largest air attack, using more than 800 drones and striking a government building in Kyiv for the first time.

The US president also reiterated his position, saying that he was "not thrilled with what's happening there" and once again expressed confidence that the situation would be resolved.

"I'm not happy with what's going on there [Russian attacks – ed.].

I believe we'll resolve it. But I'm not happy with them. I'm not happy with anything related to this war," the American leader stressed.

CNN reports that Trump also suggested several European leaders may visit the White House earlier this week.

"Some European leaders will come to our country on Monday or Tuesday, and I think we'll resolve this issue," the US president assured.

It should be noted that Trump's comments came after he told reporters earlier on Sunday that his administration was ready to move on to the second phase of sanctions against Russia.

It is worth noting that Trump made this statement against the backdrop of Russia's massive strike on Ukrainian cities.

For reference:

It should be noted that on the night of September 7, Ukraine faced one of the largest-scale attacks to date, with the Russian forces launching more than 800 drones. The assault did not end there, as additional drones continued to penetrate Ukrainian airspace.

The enemy attacked Kyiv, Kremenchuk, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Kryvyi Rih.

Residential buildings and the Cabinet of Ministers building were damaged in Kyiv. Four people died.
