President of the Czech Republic visits Ukraine and Odesa during massive Russian attack

Czech President Petr Pavel arrived in Ukraine for an official visit, including a stop in Odesa, which was under massive Russian attack at the time.

This was reported by Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territorial Development, on Telegram, Rubryka writes.

"I am glad to welcome the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, to Ukraine. We met in the city of Odesa, which is terrorized by Russia every night.

During our meeting, the Russian Federation launched three groups of Shahed drones into the city. The entire civilized world must see Russia's crimes against Ukraine," Kuleba wrote.

According to Kuleba, the parties discussed shipping safety, demining, Ukraine's reconstruction, and community development during the meeting.

"The Czech Republic is one of the leaders among countries providing systematic assistance to Ukraine. Over the three years of the full-scale war, our partner has provided $900 million in support—ranging from humanitarian aid to military equipment," Kuleba stated.

He also highlighted the contribution of Neptune anti-ship missile systems, which are mounted on Czech Tatra vehicles, noting that they have played a significant role in enhancing Ukraine's maritime security.

Kuleba also highlighted the Czech Republic's active role in Ukraine's reconstruction, emphasizing several key initiatives:

• Dnipropetrovsk region: The Czech Republic has taken patronage over this area, supporting the renovation of water treatment plants, and providing generators, medical equipment, and other essential supplies.
• Kyiv region: It is modernizing the regional children's hospital.
• The Czech Republic is also implementing reconstruction projects in various regions

Kuleba also stated that they agreed to expand humanitarian assistance to the regions affected by the war. This includes providing temporary housing for those who have lost their homes and supporting medical facilities.

"Together with the leaders of the Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regional administrations, we discussed further direct support for these regions," Kuleba said.

In addition, Kuleba invited Czech President Petr Pavel to participate in the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, which will take place this summer in Rome.

Meanwhile, on the evening of March 20, the Russian army launched strike drones toward Odesa, causing explosions and large fires in the city. There were also reports of casualties.
