Russian forces conduct major strike to Odesa: one dead, city partially without water, power, and heat

On the evening of March 4, Odesa faced another assault by Russian forces deploying drones. The city experienced several explosions, subsequently leaving parts of the regional center without electricity, water, and heating. The attack resulted in the tragic loss of a civilian life in the Odesa region.

The city's mayor, Hennadii Trukhanov, reported this.

"The enemy has again struck critical infrastructure… All relevant services are working," the head of Odesa wrote.

Later, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, confirmed that critical infrastructure in Odesa was damaged. Part of the city was left without electricity, water, and heat. He added that all relevant services are working on the liquidation.

In addition, debris from downed enemy drones caused damage to private houses in the suburbs of Odesa, sparking fires. Units from the State Emergency Service responded promptly to extinguish the blazes.

Also, according to the head of the region, a civilian resident of the Odesa region died.

"A man died as a result of a Russian drone attack in the suburbs of Odesa. A 77-year-old resident of the village of Lymanka died from shrapnel wounds," he said.

In turn, the State Emergency Service reported on large-scale destruction and fires in private houses in the Odesa region. Civilian and critical infrastructure were damaged.

"More than 60 rescuers were eliminating the consequences of the terror. Information about the wounded is being clarified," the message said.

As the Navy said, military sailors destroyed ten Russian drones over the Odesa region on the night of March 5.

"Tonight, during an air attack by the Russian occupiers, 10 attack UAVs of the "SHAHED-136″ type were shot down by the forces and means of the Naval Forces of Ukraine's armed forces," the message said.

The regional military administration added that also during the air alert, the enemy attacked the Bilhorod-Dniester region with ballistic missiles.

"The missile hit an empty sanatorium, the building was almost completely destroyed. Fortunately, no one was injured," the military administration specified.

During the night of March 3-4, Russian forces launched a significant drone attack on Odesa. According to the city's mayor, the assault damaged energy infrastructure facilities.

The Russian attack on Odesa led to three district boiler houses shutting down. Additionally, four people sustained injuries as a result of the assault.

Also, on March 1, the Russian occupation forces launched a missile strike on Odesa. Two port workers were injured as a result of the strike.
