On February 26, one of the most modern simulation centers for doctors was opened in Lviv. Here, students will be able to practice their skills in conditions similar to real ones.
The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytsky, reports this on Facebook.
What is the solution?
Ukraine's most advanced simulation center, MedLeV, has commenced operations at the Lviv Medical College of Postgraduate Education. The center allows students to hone their skills in environments that closely mimic real-life scenarios.

"This is the most modern simulation center in Ukraine, which allows you to simulate all types of medical care. Here, you can record online courses and conduct training, and teachers can analyze the work of nurses and nursing assistants in real-time by observing the process through a transparent wall.
This is a huge contribution to the training of highly qualified medical specialists," said Maksym Kozytsky, head of the Lviv Lviv Regional Military Administration.

The center is equipped by European standards of simulation medicine. It includes the following training areas:
- Operating unit – for training in surgical conditions;
- Intensive care simulation laboratory – for practicing actions in critical conditions;
- Nursing simulation laboratory – for training future nurses;
- Obstetrics and neonatology laboratory – where students practice childbirth;
- Training and resource center "For every child" – training in newborn care;
- Rooms for observation and analysis of simulation scenarios;
- Conference room for training and discussions.

The center was also equipped with the latest computerized mannequins that simulate the physiological reactions of an actual patient:
- Liusina – a universal simulator for modeling childbirth, which reproduces uterine contractions and the passage of a child through the birth canal;
- Ares – a realistic patient simulator with the ability to practice cardiopulmonary resuscitation algorithms;
- The advanced first aid simulator enables trainees to practice skills such as artificial lung ventilation, chest compressions, applying bandages, and using a defibrillator.

At the event, guests toured the center and watched a demonstration of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation simulation. They also participated in a stress management training course titled "Acute Reaction to Stress," which is part of the nationwide mental health program "How are you?" initiated by Ukraine's First Lady, Olena Zelenska.
It should be noted that in 2024, the regional budget allocated UAH 4 million for medical equipment and UAH 8.8 million for an audiovisual complex to develop the MedLeV simulation center, as well as UAH 7 million of the college's own funds to arrange the updated center.
The center is located in Lviv at 54 Lypynskoho St.
"Together with the Minister of Health Viktor Liashko, we agreed that the Lviv region will become the first region where a nursing care hospital will operate. We are starting to look for a place for such a medical institution.
We are very counting on the professionalism and colossal experience of Ms. Lesia Vovk and her wards!" Maksym Kozytsky emphasized.
For reference:
It should be noted that Ukrainian doctors performed 467 organ transplantation operations during the eleven months of 2024.
