Solutions from Ukraine: Vinnytsia region launches cinema space for wounded soldiers

As part of the National Tour "Cinema for Victory," a new cinema space has been inaugurated in the Vinnytsia region for military personnel undergoing treatment and rehabilitation. This marks the fifth facility of its kind in Ukraine.

"On February 14, as part of the National Tour "Cinema for Victory," a new, modernly equipped cinema space was opened in the medical rehabilitation center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, "Pivdennyi Buh," the message says.

How does it work?

The center's head, Iryna Trus, noted that just a month after their appeal to the Association "Watch Ukrainian!" the assembly hall was fully equipped.

The facility now offers regular movie screenings with high-quality images and sound, which play a vital role in soldiers' emotional and psychological recovery.

"Nothing warms the soul of a person, the soul of a soldier, like a sincere human, friendly communication.

I am happy that today we have opened another cinema space; we can show our Ukrainian films and communicate with the fighters," said the ambassador of the tour, actor Bohdan Beniuk, and presented the film "My Carpathian Grandfather."

It is noted that the rehabilitation center in Vinnytsia has become the fifth medical institution in which a modern cinema space is equipped, thanks to the initiative launched in the summer of 2024.

Chairman of the Board of the Association "Watch Ukrainian! " Andrii Rizol, opening the cinema hall, thanked the leadership of the National Guard of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Bilous, for all-around assistance, the leadership of the rehabilitation center, head Iryna Trus, for initiative and perseverance, and the partners for support.

In January of this year, 30 screenings of 18 Ukrainian films took place within the National Tour "Cinema for Victory!" framework.

The National Tour "Cinema for Victory!" screenings are organized by the "Watch Ukrainian!" Association in cooperation with the Main Communications Department of Ukraine's armed forces.

The project is implemented at the initiative of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the State Film and Television Agency of Ukraine, and the "Watch Ukrainian!" Association, with the support of Ukraine's armed forces, the Ministry of Defense, and partners.

It should be noted that the NATO headquarters in Belgium hosted a screening of the documentary film Operation Kursk, which was created on the initiative of the Main Communications Directorate of Ukraine's armed forces.

It was also reported that a documentary film is currently being produced in Irpin, Kyiv region, focusing on the individuals who were the first to defend the city from Russian forces in February 2022.

The animated film "I Died in Irpin," directed by Anastasiia Falileieva, won an award at the International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
