Ukrainian director Tanu Muiño wins Japanese MTV Award for Lady Gaga music video

Ukrainian director Tanu Muiño's video for Lady Gaga's song "Disease" won the MTV Video Music Awards in Japan. The video earned the accolade of "Best Video by a Solo Artist."

This year, the Ukrainian director received the nomination for "Best Video by a Solo Artist" award for the video "Disease."

In the video, Lady Gaga grapples with her "inner demons," encountering various versions of herself that represent her deepest fears and experiences. The video's symbolism, striking visuals, and innovative production make it a true artistic masterpiece.

Disease has already gained over 28 million views on YouTube.

Tanu Muiño is a Ukrainian music video maker originally from Odesa. She is known for her work on music videos for popular artists.

Record holder for the number of awards in the "Best Video Clip" nomination of the annual Ukrainian YUNA award. Her father is Robert Muino, a Cuban by nationality. Tanu lived in Havana until she was six years old.

She has directed numerous music videos for prominent Ukrainian artists, including:

In 2024, Tanu Muiño directed a performance for Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil at Eurovision. Ukraine's entry, the song "Teresa & Maria," achieved third place, earning 453 points.
