The Enjoying Life charity fund has initiated a financial literacy project targeting adults, specifically retirees. The program seeks to enhance their financial literacy and equip them with the skills to navigate modern banking services safely.
The Enjoying Life charity fund reports this.
What is the problem?
Financial transactions are increasingly shifting online in today's rapidly advancing technological landscape. Tasks such as paying for utilities, making bank transfers, and receiving pensions and social benefits are now just a few clicks away. However, these changes can present significant challenges for older adults.
Furthermore, a lack of financial literacy and a limited understanding of modern technologies leave older adults vulnerable to increasingly sophisticated fraud schemes. The National Bank of Ukraine reports a rise in financial fraud cases targeting this demographic. In the first eight months of 2024 alone, the Cyberpolice dismantled 23 organized fraud groups, six more than during the same period last year.
What is the solution?
In collaboration with PryvatBank and the National Bank of Ukraine, the Enjoying Life charity fund launched a unique initiative—a newspaper titled "Financial Wisdom." This publication is specifically designed for retirees, aiming to enhance their financial literacy and guide them in safely navigating modern banking services.

The newspaper covers:
- The basics of financial security;
- How to recognize scammers;
- Practical advice on managing a personal budget;
- Using bank cards and mobile applications.
A feature of the project was the involvement of famous Ukrainians who give helpful advice to readers, thereby drawing even more attention to the importance of financial literacy.
The following star guest experts have already become:
- Pavlo Zibrov,
- Liudmyla Smorodyna,
- Oleksii Vertynskyi.

How does it work?
The publication of the "Financial Wisdom" newspaper is funded by PryvatBank and the National Bank of Ukraine. It is distributed free of charge at bank branches, social protection centers, locations where the Enjoying Life charity fund offers assistance and training, and other public spaces.
The newspaper also has an online version that pensioners and their relatives can read, helping them master important financial skills.

The project goes beyond providing information and fosters a community where individuals aged 50 and over can receive support and valuable knowledge. With the contribution of celebrity experts who share their experiences and advice, the newspaper transforms into more than just an information source—it becomes a practical assistant in the daily lives of retirees.
It's important to spread the word and inform your older friends about this project. By doing so, you can provide them with a valuable tool for self-education or even a handy cheat sheet. The online version of the newspaper is available at the following link.

Ukrainian schools will introduce a mandatory course titled "Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy" for students in grades 8-9 this year. The pilot teaching of this subject began in 2024.
Teachers and parents regularly face the challenge of teaching children to manage money wisely. Often, verbal explanations are not as effective as learning from personal mistakes. The Ukrainian game "Life Capital" allows players to make mistakes without real consequences, enabling analysis and preventing these errors from occurring in real life. Rubryka investigates how this game imparts financial literacy to young people and explores its benefits. For more details, read our article "Playing and spending money wisely: a game teaches children financial literacy."
As reported, one of the guiding principles of restoration is "build better than before," focusing on enhancing the energy efficiency of restored structures, many of which previously lacked this attribute. But does Ukrainian construction legislation actually mandate that restored buildings achieve energy efficiency? Rubryka uncovered the answer to this question through a study conducted by the Public Network "Opora."
