European Investment Bank chief arrives in Ukraine

The President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Nadia María Calviño, arrived in the Ukrainian capital on a visit.

The Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernová, reported this on the social network X.

Mathernova expressed her pleasure at arriving in Kyiv with Nadia Calvino, where they received a warm welcome from Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." She remarked on another excellent journey with Ukrzaliznytsia and conveyed her pride in the EU's role, alongside the European Investment Bank, in its resilience and modernization.

On January 31, 19 member states of the European Union proposed expanding financing for weapons production through the European Investment Bank.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky approved the composition of the delegation to participate in negotiations with the European Investment Bank on concluding a financial agreement within the framework of the project "Implementation of an emergency assistance system for the population using a single telephone number 112, taking into account the needs of persons with disabilities".

The corresponding order, No. 157/2024-rp, dated December 20, 2024, was published on the head of state's website.

Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Leonid Tymchenko, led the delegation.

The order allows the head of the Ukrainian delegation to make changes to the composition of the Ukrainian delegation in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In addition, the order approved the directives of the Ukrainian delegation for participation in the negotiations.
