Russia strikes Izium, killing five and injuring 38

"My condolences to the family and friends. It is impossible to reconcile with this cruelty. We need to put pressure on Russia, apply as much force as possible – the force of arms, the force of sanctions, the force of diplomacy – to stop terror and protect life," he stressed.

As the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military administration, Oleh Synehubov, reported, the Russians used a ballistic missile. As of 12:10 p.m., four people were reported dead. At least 20 people were also injured, five of whom were hospitalized in a medical facility. All emergency services are working at the scene.

"The dead in Izium are two women and two men. Civilians. The details of the people are being established," he specified.

At 12:25 p.m., the head of the region specified that one person was under the rubble. The elimination of the consequences is ongoing.

"Administrative buildings have been partially destroyed; a five-story residential building has been damaged. Rescuers, emergency medical services, and a dog service are working," he wrote.

According to the head of the regional military administration, 24 people had already been hospitalized in Izium as of 12:48 p.m.

"Among them is a 15-year-old girl who received a shrapnel wound; her condition is moderate. Three more people are in the operating room; doctors are providing all necessary assistance," he said.

At 1:20 p.m., Synehubov reported that the number of people killed as a result of the shelling of Izium had increased to 5 people.

"Rescuers have unblocked another body. The person is being identified," he said.

At 1:47 p.m., the head of the region reported that the number of victims had increased to 38, including a 15-year-old girl; 7 people were hospitalized.

"We are now conducting house-to-house inspections: determining who needs temporary housing for resettlement and who needs windows to be sewn up. We are preparing construction materials for work," the head of the regional military administration added.

At around 2:30 p.m., rescuers reported that 3 children were among the 38 people injured. Unfortunately, 5 people died.

"Search and rescue operations have been completed," the State Emergency Service added.

On the night of February 4, Russian forces launched strike drones over Ukraine, prompting air alerts across multiple regions. Sirens were activated in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, and parts of the Cherkasy region in response to the threat.

Consequences of the enemy attack:

• The Russian drone attack on the night of February 4 sparked fires at three private enterprises in the Cherkasy region, two of which have been extinguished, while efforts to contain the third continue. 
• In Kyiv's Pechersk district, debris from a drone was found following the assault, resulting in window damage at several educational institutions, a clinic, and some outbuildings, though no injuries were reported. 
• In the Sumy region, one drone landed in the Burynska community, and another landed in Sumy city. Preliminary reports indicate no injuries, but the blast wave shattered over 30 windows in residential buildings and more than 20 in an educational facility in the Burynska community. In Sumy, several summer houses were destroyed or damaged. 

Overall, Russian forces launched a total of 65 Shahed-type drones and various simulator drones, of which Ukrainian defenses intercepted 37, and another 28 did not reach their intended targets.
