The portal "Diia. Osvita" offers an educational series on acting in emergencies by state emergency service experts.

The press service of the State Emergency Service reports this.

"The State Emergency Service, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Diia.Osvita and with the support of UNICEF, are launching an educational series on safety, "How to act in emergencies".

This interactive course teaches children, parents, and young people algorithms for action in critical conditions," the message says.

This educational series consists of 6 series based on practical recommendations from experts of the State Emergency Service.

The series' heroes are a Ukrainian family whose members find themselves in real-life danger scenarios, from fires and emergencies on water or in the mountains to chemical and radiation threats and emergencies during the war.

In each episode, participants gain skills in how to:

  • React correctly in critical situations
  • Use fire extinguishers effectively
  • Safely handle explosive objects
  • Collect mercury from a broken thermometer

The educational series also considers psychological aspects: it pays special attention to supporting the mental health of children and adults in stressful situations.

The State Emergency Service explained that viewers will memorize algorithms for actions during emergencies and learn self-soothing techniques to reduce tension and maintain emotional balance.

"The contemporary world presents us with new challenges, making the ability to respond swiftly not just a choice but a necessity. Both adults and children must possess the knowledge and skills to act correctly in critical situations, as danger can arise at any moment. In such instances, every second is invaluable.

In this series, in simple language, we will explain the basic algorithms of actions for both children and adults in times of danger and teach you how not to get lost and how to be ready for any challenges," Andrii Danyk, Head of the State Emergency Service, said.

Viewers can watch the series on the Diia.Osvita platform by following the provided link.

  • Sign language.
