Russian attack Sudzha boarding school leaving nearly 100 civilians trapped under rubble
Russian troops struck a boarding school building in Sudzha, Kursk region, which is currently under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to Rubryka, citing a statement from Oleksii Dmytrashkivskyi, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Armed Forces Commandant's Office in Sudzha, the strike occurred at 17:54.
"Ninety-five people are trapped under the rubble. Moans and screams can be heard from beneath the debris. Most of those affected are elderly and bedridden," Dmytrashkivskyi reported.
Military commandant forces are actively conducting search and rescue operations. Russian sources suggest the building may have been hit by an air bomb.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that Russian troops struck the boarding school with a guided aerial bomb while dozens of civilians were inside.
The military also stressed that Russian forces were aware the boarding school was exclusively occupied by civilians—local residents, including women and children.
