The Swedish Ministry of Defense's press service reported this.
Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnsson noted that this is the most extensive package of aid from Sweden to Ukraine during the entire period of the full-scale war. Thus, Ukraine will receive:
Johnsson also reported that 90 million of the 1.2 billion dollars will be allocated to the production of Ukrainian long-range missiles and drones.
An additional $178 million will support Ukraine's military production under the "Danish model."
Also, 58 million dollars will be spent on training Ukrainian soldiers in Sweden in 2025.
The aid package also includes doubling the previous donation of 16 CB 90 combat boats and anti-tank weapons to Ukraine and investments to bolster the Ukrainian defense industry.
The department noted that this is the 18th military aid package to Ukraine, thus bringing the total amount of the packages provided since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion to about 61.9 billion Swedish kronor (over $5.6 billion).
The aid package announced on Thursday consists of eight components, the largest of which is various purchases of the latest equipment, mainly from the Swedish and other European defense industries, for transfer to Ukraine.
The package, with a total value of 13.5 billion Swedish kronor (about $1.25 billion), includes the following components:
For reference:
It should be noted that Sweden has been actively supporting Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022.
Its assistance includes financial, humanitarian, and military support. Stockholm provides significant funds through international organizations, supports displaced people, and transfers humanitarian aid.
It is worth mentioning that Sweden plans to allocate financial support to Ukraine in the amount of 63 million euros, or approximately 720 million kronor. Of these, 20 million euros will be directed to developing the Ukrainian defense industry.
Approximately 43 million euros will be directed towards multilateral initiatives supporting Ukraine's armed forces. These initiatives may involve various coalitions, including those established within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group framework, known as the "Ramstein format."
Another 20 million euros are planned to be allocated to the development of the defense industry according to the "Danish model." This mechanism provides for the purchase of Ukrainian-made defense equipment.
Furthermore, Denmark's previous support for this model has enabled Ukraine to produce 18 artillery systems. Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, Sweden has contributed approximately 57.4 billion Swedish kronor (nearly 5 billion euros) in aid to Ukraine.
