Ukrainian-Danish Youth House set to open in Mykolaiv
On January 24, the Ukrainian-Danish Youth Center will open in Mykolaiv. The new space for young people will be opened with the event Åbne Døre — Open Doors Day, where everyone will be able to tour the premises, meet the team, and take part in activities.
The organizers reported this.
Throughout the year, Mykolaiv saw the implementation of various programs and initiatives, including training in dialogue methods, grant management, and local projects. These efforts included two rounds of the Ambassador Program, with participants now part of a vibrant youth community.
The new youth space is set to be a hub for ideas, learning, creativity, and collaboration. It will offer young people opportunities to:
- organize various events,
- participate in trainings,
- work on their own projects,
- and connect with like-minded individuals.
"Informal atmosphere, communication, activities, an opportunity to explore, see, and feel how the space has changed," the organizers emphasize.
The House team will work for the city's youth and those who want to create positive changes in their community.
The event will take place at: 59 Shevchenko St.
Schedule of the event:
- 15:30–16:30 — Quest: "Explore the Youth House"
- 16:30–17:00 — Mini Master Classes
- 17:00–17:30 — Informal Communication and Networking
Young people who want to join the initiatives or simply get acquainted with the updated space can come to the House for free. Pre-registration is at the link.
For reference:
Notably, Mykolaiv has opened its first driving school for people with disabilities. The idea for this school emerged in the summer of 2023. After extensive preparation, it officially started operating in December, with the first group of 40 students already in training.
Also, two underground schools were opened in the Mykolaiv region – in a lyceum in the village of Tsentralny and one of the gymnasiums in Mykolaiv.
