Solutions to win: Ministry of Defense approves nearly 30 ATV, buggy, and amphibious models for use in Ukraine's armed forces
In 2024, the Ministry of Defense approved and authorized nearly 30 models of motor vehicles for use in Ukraine's armed forces.
The Ministry of Defense reported this.
Motor vehicles are designed for movement in difficult terrain and off-road conditions. These include:
- all-terrain vehicles,
- buggies,
- amphibious vehicles.
Among the models codified last year are products from European, American, Asian, and Ukrainian manufacturers.
As noted by Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov, the use of this segment of vehicles allows Ukrainian soldiers to perform a wide range of tasks on the front line, in particular:
- logistical support,
- evacuation of the wounded,
- high-speed movement of personnel and cargo in places where it is impossible to organize the arrival of a conventional truck or passenger car.
Among the models admitted to operation are vehicles with electric engines.
In particular, the Ukrainian electric motorcycle "Atom Military" is used at the front not only as a discreet, silent means of transportation but also as a mobile source of electrical power because the domestic electric motorcycle can recharge other electrical devices from its battery.
The Ministry of Defense reminded manufacturers of weapons and military equipment that information on the codification procedure for new munitions models is available at the link.
For reference:
In particular, in 2024, the Ministry of Defense codified and authorized more than 200 models of motor vehicles for use in the army.
"These are numerous models of motor vehicles needed by units of the Defense Forces to perform a wide range of tasks. Among the codified models are light tactical cars, pickup trucks, technical assistance vehicles, mobile workshops, logistics vehicles, and other vehicles manufactured by Ukrainian and foreign automobile companies. In particular, MAN, Iveco, Scania, Volvo, DAF, Peugeot, Toyota, Mitsubishi, etc.," Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov said.
The Ministry of Defense noted that about 50% of the new automobile products codified last year were domestically produced.
It was also reported that the unique all-wheel drive buggy "HURKIT," which has no analogs, was developed at the Lviv School of Computer Technologies and Construction.
In addition, tests of drones with fiber-optic communication were recently completed in Ukraine.
It should be noted that Ukrainian developers have created a new unmanned aerial vehicle, WarDog, which can conduct reconnaissance in rugged terrain and is under the influence of enemy electronic warfare.
