On January 14, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who had arrived in Kyiv on a working visit. The meeting was devoted to discussing the Ukrainian army's most urgent needs.

"We particularly emphasized the importance of providing IRIS-T air defense systems and ammunition for them. Ukraine will soon receive another 60 missiles for these systems," Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said.

The meeting also analyzed the prospects for the supply of artillery shells, especially 155 mm caliber. Special attention was paid to the development of the armored engineering sector.

For reference:

It is worth mentioning that Germany had handed over to Ukraine the first of fifty ordered RCH 155 howitzers to strengthen the Ukrainian artillery.

In addition, the German company Rheinmetall handed over another 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles and will supply another 180 thousand 35-mm ammunition for Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery systems.

The German government also officially confirmed financing the supply of 30 GEREON RCS unmanned ground complexes (UGV) for Ukraine's armed forces.
